The False Bird of Paradise (Heliconia rostrata) is a gorgeous, highly-prized plant with brightly colored bracts and small, hidden flowers. The False Bird of Paradise is so remarkable that once you’ve seen it, you will never forget it!
Common names for the plant are wild plantains and lobster claws. The genus Heliconia includes approximately 200 perennial species[1] in the Heliconiaceae family that are native to tropical America.
Depending on the species, False Bird of Paradise can reach between 2 feet and 20 feet. The colors of the flowers vary in shades of green, yellow, red, pink, and orange.

A neighbor is growing this gorgeous plant. I have not been able to speak with her. The flowers are just awesome and she has hibiscus 🌺 growing next to the false Bird of paradise.
