Basket Of Gold

Basket-of-Gold is nicknamed because of its beautiful yellow flowers. It is an evergreen perennial from the Brassicaceae family, native to Europe and Asia. This plant is synonymous with the Alyssum saxatile plant[1] and is among the most resilient flowering plants.

Its original habitat is mountainous and rocky, which makes it perfect for sloping terrain and rock gardens. In any case, the flowers add a nice touch of sparkle. The plant grows relatively quickly and, under the right conditions, can reach 4 to 12 inches in height.

The growth comprises a woody base with small, simple, gray-green leaves surrounded by abundant yellow flowers in spring. The plant blooms in panicles or clusters of small white or yellow flowers.

The plethora of bright yellow flowers is hard to miss when planting in gardens. Yet, the plant stays true to its name and creates a fascinating sea of yellow and gold.
